Not more than once a week!
Exposing your face to steam means opening your pores and that my friend, is not the wisest thing to do 🙂 Steam is given during facials to open the pores, which will then help in extracting the black heads and white heads from the pores. This irritates the skin so much that you can see red patches over the nose or forehead (in case of sensitive skin). After this a face pack is applied to calm the skin down, interesting point to note here is that since the pores are open, all the goodness of the face pack is directly absorbed by the skin (provided the face pack is good enough and doesn’t contain a million chemicals). To finally close the pores one must take a cold steam or rub ice cube across the face (This step however is ignored in most beauty parlours!)
